Taproot Foundation is a nonprofit that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society. Our mission is to lead, mobilize and engage professionals in pro bono service that drives social change. Together we can engage Los Angeles’ 300,000 professionals—worth BILLIONS of dollars in talent—by partnering with companies, professional schools, and trade associations to make an impact on important social issues.
Taproot makes service meaningful to pro bono consultants and relevant to the nonprofits they support. In just over three years, we have readied more than 1,500 Los Angeles professionals to take on pro bono challenges; we have over 100 pro bono consultants that are working on, or have already finished their second Service Grant project with us.
Pro bono consulting
Taproot’s Service Grant program would not be possible without the dedication of our pro bono consultants, who use their professional expertise to strengthen local nonprofits. If you have three to five years of professional experience in design, technology, marketing, human resources or strategy, we encourage to apply to become a Taproot pro bono consultant. All of our pro bono consultants attend an orientation before being matched with a nonprofit and placed on a project.
Getting pro bono support
