Totaling $38,990,000 in donated services
The Taproot Foundation started in San Francisco 13 years ago to meet a social need: Our communities’ biggest challenges are met through the work of nonprofit organizations that are creative, but under-resourced in the marketing, design, technology, management, and strategic planning resources they need to deliver on their missions.
After over a decade of practice and research, Taproot’s Bay Area office has grown from delivering a single marketing project to over 800 consulting engagements; from engaging three volunteers, to 3,500. In just 13 years, Taproot Bay Area has delivered over $40 million in pro bono service.
Pro bono consulting
Taproot’s Service Grant program would not be possible without the countless hours of time donated by San Francisco Bay Area volunteers. These pro bono consultants use their professional expertise to help a nonprofit organization better function. Anyone with 3-5 years of professional experience in design, technology, marketing, human resources or strategy is encouraged to apply. All of our pro bono consultants attend an orientation before being matched with a nonprofit and placed on a project. Complete a profile to apply to be a pro bono consultant and be scheduled to attend an orientation.
Getting pro bono support
Taproot is a grant-making foundation, but instead of cash grants, we give grants of service.
