Definition
Employment decisions are based on merit and business needs and not on race, color, citizenship status, national origin, ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, religion, creed, physical or mental disability, marital status, veteran status, political affiliation, or any other factor protected by law.
The Taproot Foundation complies with federal, state and local laws regarding providing reasonable accommodation for disabled employees. The Taproot Foundation will make reasonable accommodation wherever necessary for all employees or applicants with disabilities, provided that the individual is otherwise qualified to safely perform the essential duties and assignments connected with the job and provided that any accommodations made do not impose an undue hardship on the Taproot Foundation.

Application
This nondiscrimination policy applies to all areas of employment including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, benefits, transfer, and social and recreational programs. It is the responsibility of every Director, manager and employee to conscientiously follow this policy.
In addition, all nonprofit organizations applying for services from the Taproot Foundation must have written policies in agreement with those stated above and a track record of not discriminating on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, disability, national origin, political affiliation or religious belief.
