Office Assistant (New York)
The Taproot Foundation is seeking an experienced, full-time Office Assistant to support our three East Coast offices, while based in New York City. This position is an opportunity for a bright and ambitious individual to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced organization.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as primary contact for technical and office contractors
  • Serve as East Coast contact for requests from national headquarters
  • Create and maintain files and office supplies/equipment
  • Manage contact database, scheduling, and correspondence
  • Conduct outreach to potential grant applicants
  • Answer inquiries from potential nonprofit applicants, volunteers, and the public
  • Coordinate interviews with applicants and interviewers
  • Prepare and send award and decline notifications
  • Schedule and attend monthly volunteer orientations, trainings, and other events as needed
  • Prepare presentation materials for funder, nonprofit, and volunteer meetings


Required Skills:
  • Professional-level writing, editorial, and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility, energy and initiative to work effectively in an entrepreneurial nonprofit environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills: high-energy, outgoing personality, and a good sense of humor
  • Dependable team player willing to go the extra mile
  • Highly professional demeanor
  • Exceptionally organized and detail oriented
  • Able to manage projects through a complex, multi-stage process
  • Interested in developing or improving office processes to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Quick learner and self-starter who can manage own work efforts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic database administration


Location
Taproot Foundation's East Coast office is located in midtown Manhattan, near Rockefeller Center

Compensation
$35,000
