Foundation Gives $300 K to Taproot Foundation
San Francisco based Draper Richards Foundation has awarded a $300,000 fellowship to the Taproot Foundation, an organization that provides nonprofits with volunteers from the business community.
Founded in 2001, the Taproot Foundation provides nonprofits with service grants of infrastructure-building projects that are managed by volunteers from the business community. In its first year of operation, the Taproot Foundation awarded 20 nonprofits with service grants. The grant from the Draper Richards Foundation will help Taproot award more than $1 million in service grants to Bay Area organizations in 2003. More than 300 volunteer professionals will assist the nonprofits with marketing and technology expertise.
The Draper Richards Foundation was started by venture capitalists William H. Draper III and Robin Richards Donohoe.
