SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 11, 2001 - The Taproot Foundation, a Bay Area volunteer organization, today announces the availability of its Service Grant Program. The Program provides grants of professional services to local nonprofit organizations. Each grant is staffed by a small team of experienced business professionals who volunteer up to five hours of their time each week.
"The goal of the Taproot Foundation is to create a stronger and healthier society in which there is greater collaboration and communication between the business and nonprofit communities," said Aaron Hurst, Founder and Executive Director. "We're finding that business professionals today are particularly interested in giving back to the community. Our Service Grant Program makes it easier for them to donate their highly valuable skills and creates the opportunity for business and nonprofit professionals to establish meaningful relationships."
The Taproot Foundation is redefining volunteering by combining the efficiencies of traditional volunteer matching services with the quality management practices of leading business consulting firms. The result is the ability to assign volunteers to the most appropriate projects based on their skills and to ensure the timely delivery of quality professional services.
Eleven types of Marketing, Creative and Technology Service Grants are now available as part of the Service Grant Program. These include Web Site Development, Press Kit Creation, Online Donation Technology Implementation and Branding/Identity Definition. Each Service Grant offers a set of defined deliverables and lasts up to sixteen weeks.
