Thank you, pro bono consultants! As the Program & Fundraising Fellow at Taproot Foundation Chicago, I would not be able to do my job without all of your input and suggestions on how to improve our processes. Because of your dedication to pro bono service, Taproot Foundation is growing, getting media attention, and strengthening more nonprofits than ever! Happy National Volunteer Week to all 4,000 of you! Prior to joining Taproot Foundation as the Western Region Development Manager, I was a paid consultant to nonprofits, providing many of the same services/products that you help Taproot Foundation provide to nonprofits at no cost. I have been incredibly impressed at the level of professionalism, experience, and dedication you all bring to your pro bono projects -- not to mention the deliverables -- which rival my for-profit consulting experience. Congratulations and thank you for all you do!

As a Program Manager here at Taproot Foundation, I am blown away on a daily basis by the incredible skill, talent and dedication of all our wonderful pro bono consultants! Your generosity of time and spirit are an inspiration to all. An enormous thanks for all the wonderful work that you do!

Happy Volunteer Week! I have had the pleasure of working in 2 of our cities (NYC & DC) and while different, the talent & enthusiasm expressed by all of you is really an amazing thing to see. You give so much of yourself to improve the lives & communities of so many people. This week honors your dedication and commitment to service and I thank you for choosing Taproot Foundation as your outlet in giving back. I admire you all and celebrate you.

Time and again I've seen Pro Bono Consultants have long-lasting impact on the nonprofits that they serve. The great work starts with the Service Grant but the ripple affect extends through the whole nonprofit and out into the community. You exemplify the type of service encouraged by the the recent Serve America Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Obama. Thank you for all of your enthusiasm and hard work.

I am currently leading my first TapRoot project for a marvelous client LEAPNYC, an organization which uses the arts to help bring math, science and social studies to life for under-served students in the 5-Boroughs.

Thanks to a fabulous team -- Stephanie Kensiscki, Brand Strategist; Christopher Howarth, Graphic Designer; Marcia Reed-Woodward, Project Manager; and Brenda Hsieh, Marketing Manager -- we completed a very successful Visual Identity and Marketing Strategy for the Frontline Focus Training Institute of the Chicago Jobs Council. Our organization, Reading Partners, has benefited from 3 projects to date, and we are in a much better place because of them. I too would like to acknowledge and thank all the volunteers out there for selflessly giving to the community their most valuable assets - their compassion and know-how. My sincere thanks goes to the the Taproot team of volunteers that worked with the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California. We needed their help and they provided it unselfishly and with enthusiasm. In these difficult times as many non-profits struggle to keep their heads above water is is acts like these from our partners in the for-profit world that provide foundational sustenance and help provide ongoing benefit to our community at large. Many, many thanks to the Taproot team working with the Bellevue Arts Museum. We just got started and what a great team. As the ED of a not for profit with limited resources and big ideas, having the assistance and guidance of these professionals will help us make that vision possible. I know that we will emerge from this process with a much stronger foundation for communicating about the Museum to our current and potential constituencies and that we will make better choices about how to apply our resources for maximum return. Our team is working with AmeriCorps Alums helping them with their Brand Strategy and Key Messages. I can't say that we have the most typical client but I can certainly say we have been very lucky to have such an unusual team. Starting with our Project Manager, Karen Morris, who has had such an infectious positive attitude, taking our team forward and boosting our morale along the way! Cristina Santistevan, our copy writer, has provided us with a wealth of council and "can do" attitude. Khalid Smith, our Brand expert has been relentless in ensuring client satisfaction. Since then, I worked on 3 service grants and am about to begin a fourth. Community Voices Heard has benefited from two terrific Taproot Volunteer teams: one to design a brochure for us and one that is delving into a financial analysis project right now. The brochure that our team last year produced (Terri Bunofsky, Claudia Dextre, Lindsay Hagan, Katrina Kass, and Michelle Ebertz) was truly spectacular and has really helped us communicate what we're doing to external individuals more effectively. Now, we're benefiting from the terrific work of Team #2 (Mark Goodenow, Tanya Bley, Carol Coli, Oksana Voronenko, and Kevin Buddhdew). They're preparing a financial model for us that is really going to help us gain a deeper understanding of our organizational expenses and needs. It's great having a team of dedicated volunteers that add to our capacity and share their skill set with us. Thanks for all your time and support!

We just kicked off a strategy project for Bay Area Video Coalition to focus on a Competitive/Collaborative Analysis, and I am consistently impressed with the caliber of talent from the Taproot team, as well as the BAVC team. Our Taproot team led by John Kelly truly showed that teamwork provides a multiplier effect. John's consistent leadership and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction made the Key Messaging and Brand Strategy project for the UDFB deliver on its promises several-fold. Our website is HUNDREDS of times better thanks to the efforts of our great Taproot team: Melanie Gribbin, Laura Ward, Dawn Richardson, Colleen Fleming, and our Account Director Jill Richards. It was a great team, and we got a great website out of the project. Thanks for all your hard work! We're now excited to be embarking on our second Taproot project to create a new JVS brand. I can't wait to see the results!

I have the privilege of leading the team for the Downtown Women's Center Web Site project, and the experience has been extraordinary. We have a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers, and the work to date has been excellent. I believe the final web site will be a testament to the involvement of everyone on the team. Thanks to Laurie, Clarissa, Catherine, Kent, Michael, Lynette and Sol for all the great work.

Los Angeles is still a new market for Taproot, and I have been very impressed with the quality and enthusiasm of all the volunteers. Taproot is off to an amazing start in LA.

A BIG Thank you to the University District Food Bank staff and volunteers - over the past 25 years, you have faithfully served Northeast neighborhoods of Seattle by providing food to anyone in need. In this time of need, there are 1,000 families each week that are thankful for your services; 200 of these neighbors are children who, because of you, can go to school well- fed and ready to learn. It is truly a pleasure to serve such an effective organization.

My sincere thanks goes to the the Taproot team of volunteers headed by Judi Marash and Sara Knox, that worked with Women In Need in NYC. Talk about a professional and talented group of women! We sorely needed a new annual report and what a sophisticated piece we received! In these difficult economic times, we are so lucky to have an organization like Taproot and even luckier to now call the volunteers that worked with us Friends! Keep up the good work Taproot!
