Taproot Foundation

Organizations that require a larger, more complex web presence need a professional and well-organized site to deliver the best results for the organization.

What we offer

We start by working with you to better understand your organization, your key audiences, their specific needs, and your communications goals. Then we define and deliver the foundation for a website that meets your needs and reflects your organization’s level of technical expertise. At a logical stopping point, the team will work closely with you to ensure that you can bring the site to life after their work is complete.

The estimated value of this Service Grant is $50,000.

Results

The impact of each project varies, but many of our clients have reported:

  • Increased online donations
  • Improved relationship with potential donors and funders; higher conversion rate of leads
  • Increased online volunteer recruitment
  • Increased efficiency providing information to prospective clients and volunteers
  • Greater staff efficiency with web content maintenance

How we get it done

The pro bono consultant team will complete some or all of the following:

  • Discovery interviews with a range of your staff
  • A requirements brief that details your needs and our suggested approach
  • A website architecture that can be used to scale your new website
  • Design templates (or style sheets) for 4-6 key HTML page types (e.g. homepage, tier one pages)
  • Creative assets (e.g. key images, type faces)
  • New navigation and copy for key pages
  • Training on implementation and maintenance

Our website Service Grants are specifically scoped to design and develop a forward-facing, content-based public website. Server-side database and application development are out of scope, as is the analysis and selection of web hosting providers. Taking the site live is also out of scope for this Service Grant.
