Marketing Practice
Our Marketing practice will help strengthen your ability to communicate with key stakeholders and fundraise effectively. In a time of shifting funding sources, it is essential that your communications with funders, donors, volunteers, clients, partners and the community be as powerful as possible.
We offer a range of Marketing Service Grants to meet your needs and encourage repeat client engagements. We suggest you start with the service that will lay the best foundation for all of your marketing and fundraising needs.
We offer support for organizations at all stages along a continuum, starting with the development of a brand strategy. A good brand strategy can then be used to build a name, visual identity or key messages. Once these foundational elements are in place (either by completing one of our Service Grants or through other means), an organization can develop effective tactical materials including annual reports, brochures and websites.
We offer eight Service Grants in our Marketing practice. Choose the title of each grant to learn more about what these Service Grants deliver and which organizations can best benefit from them.
Available Service Grants
Key Messages & Brand Strategy
How do we succinctly explain who we are, who we serve, how we’re different, and what makes us the best at what we do? How can we communicate this effectively to different audiences?
If those questions resonate with you, we recommend you start with this Service Grant, which will provide a solid foundation for all of your marketing and fundraising efforts. In the process, we will also review your existing name, visual identity and communication materials to determine their effectiveness.
Naming &Visual Identity
How do we create a name and logo that stands out and accurately communicates the messages we want to convey?
Naming & Visual Identity Service Grant will provide your organization with a name and logo that resonate with your core audiences. A Key Messages & Brand Strategy Service Grant is a prerequisite for receiving this grant.
Visual Identity & Brand Strategy
How do we create a logo that works well with the name we have and represents our organization well?
Is your current name effective, but your organization needs a fresh articulation of your brand and visual identity (e.g. logo, stationary, etc.)? We will focus on articulating your position on the marketplace, creating a new visual identity and developing directions for how to apply it to all your communication materials.
Brochure
What is the best way to represent our organization in a brochure? Who should be the audience?
An effective brochure can motivate a prospective donor, strengthen your relationship with an existing foundation, or engage a new volunteer. This service is appropriate for organizations that have a solid marketing and fundraising strategy, and a strong name and visual identity.
Annual Report
How do we best represent our organization to our most important stakeholders? What is the most effective way of communicating our progress year after year?
Is your organization looking to increase funding by major individual or institutional donors? If your organization already has strong general marketing materials describing your history, programs, services and benefits, our consulting team can provide you with a more sophisticated piece, as well as a process for creating a refreshed annual report each year.
Basic Website
How do we build a professional website with few resources at our disposal?
Our basic website is designed for organizations that have no one in-house with significant website technical skills, and that need a way to translate existing effective print materials online. Our consultant team will provide you with a small, live, professional-quality website that will give you a compelling online presence that resonates with your funders, donors, volunteers and the community.
Advanced Website
How do we build a website that meets our complex needs?
Our advanced website is designed for organizations that have some in-house website capabilities, but that need more advanced expertise to create a professional quality, larger, and more complicated website. Our consulting team will provide you with a new website architecture, appropriate design elements, and the other key building blocks your in-house people can use to assemble a more sophisticated web presence.
Donor Database
We are not awarding Donor Database projects in our June 2010 or September 2010 grant rounds. We plan to offer this project again in December 2010.
Our team will help you find the donor management system that's right for your organization and tailor it to meet your organization's unique needs.
